You asked for it – so we built it. The R12-a is the same popular R12 step-thru electric bike with an 8-speed derailleur. We also added a new power control meter on the handle bar, upgraded the grips and had the frame painted a deep blue.
European styling makes this step-thru attractive and a popular choice for commuting to work or the store. Large rear rack is perfect for carrying books, groceries, or your picnic basket.
Front fork shocks cushion your ride. You can also add a suspension seat post and cruiser saddle for added comfort.
The “R” series bikes are our top models designed to be comfortable and long lasting. These are the finest electric bikes we have ever offered and compare to electric bikes costing more than twice as much.
The R12-a uses a patented bracket mount motor design. This design allows us to get more climbing power with lower battery usage. This also allows for easy changing and removal of both the front and rear wheels.
The bracket mount motor enables the bikes gears to be used with the motor. This allows you to downshift for hills and to shift up to higher gears as you gain speed. This feature is exclusive to our “R” models.
The R12-a has a V-type front and rear brakes. The smooth shifting Shimano Acera derailleur is combined a an 8-speed SRAM cassette.
